Valbar, officially the Socialist Republic of Valbar, is a nation in northern Europe. It has a coast with the Greenlan Sea to the west, the Barents Sea to the east, the Navan Sea to the south, and the Arctic Ocean to the north.
Valbar ranks moderately in political freedom due to the required socialist aspect of government. Despite this requirement, there are still several independent political parties. Civil liberties and HRC-FS human rights are protected well and Valbar places high in global rankings.
The Valbari economy is stable, but fixed, preventing significant growth. Valbar has small mining operations across the archipelago which is the largest source of income for the nation. Research facilities concerning reincarnation are present, but reincarnated species are not introduced in the country. The Valbar Global Seed Vault and the renowned Longeer Agriculture Research Institute are also located here.
Etymology
Valbar is derived from the old Norse name Svalbard, which can be translated from Icelanic to mean "cold turf". This was the name adopted by the old country of Norway in the 1900s when it annexed the land.
