On December 27th, 2006, TL&M Gravel train A-VROPRA was traveling eastbound on the Port Terminal Subdivision and the front of the traub passed the Rosenberg Diamond at 9:14am. A few minutes earlier, a TL&M Sand train (A-KATGAL) was traveling Southbound on the Galveston Subdivision, and at 9:18am, the train was approaching the Rosenberg Diamond, but 12 cars of A-VROPRA where still on the diamond, and at 9:19am, A-KATGAL slammed into the rear of A-VROPRA. TL&M 6010, TL&M 3067, and TL&M 2017 were leading A-KATGAL. All locomotives and 29 cars were damaged, with 4 cars being destroyed.
