Lietavia (Lietavian: Lietavos), officially the Republic of Lietavia (Lietavian: Lietavos Respublika), is a country in the Baltic region of Northern Europe. It is one of two Baltic states and lies on the eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. It borders Estonia to the north, Russia to the east, Ukraine to the southeast, and Poland to the southwest, also sharing a maritime border with Sweden to the west. Lietavia covers an area of 352,614 km² with a population of 15.8 million. It's capital city and historical nucleus is Vilnius and its largest city is Minskas; other major urban settlements include Ryga, Kaunas, Barysavas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai, and Maladečina. Lietavians belong to the Balts ethnolinguistic group and speak Lietavian.
