The Commonwealth Navy (Milenkan: Наморнитсиво Сполешенствиы) is the naval arm of the Commonwealth Armed Forces. It has existed in various forms since 1589, thus being the oldest branch of the Armed Forces.
The Commonwealth Navy possesses a naval force composed of sophisticated vessels and aircraft, organized in five main branches: the Naval Service (Milenkan: Наморниы Службиы), responsible for the operation of the Navy's Surface Combat Vessels and its auxiliaries; the Submarine Service (Milenkan:Пордморкске Службиы), which operates the force's submarines; the Sea Guard (Milenkan:Наморниы Страз), responsible for the coastal patrol and border security of the nation's territorial waters; the Aerial Service (Milenkan: Лететска Службиы), which operates the force's aircraft; and the Marine Corps (Milenkan: Наморниы Пецчота), lit. Naval Infantry, a highly specialized amphibious light infantry corps.
History
The nominal head of the Commonwealth Navy is the Lord Admiral, a position currently held by the monarch. The Sovereign is also Commander-in-chief of the Commonwealth Armed Forces. The professional head of the Naval Service is the Commander of Naval Operations, an admiral and member of the Defence Council of the Commonwealth. The Defence Council delegates management of the Naval Service to the Admiralty Board, which directs the Navy Board, a sub-committee of the Admiralty Board comprising only naval officers and Ministry of Defence (MOD) civil servants. These are all based in Vladika, where the Commander of Naval Operations, also known as the Chief of the Naval Staff, is supported by the Naval Staff Department.
The Naval Service consists of 4 organizational branches: The Joint Fleet Forces Command, the Military Sealift Command, the Special Operations Command and the Electronic & Cybernetic Warfare Command. The Joint Fleet Forces Command oversees the operation of Milenka's active Surface Fleets and Expeditionary Forces, and is commanded by a Fleet Admiral. The Military Sealift Command coordinates the deployment of the Navy's amphibious warfare vessels, auxiliaries, and replenishment oilers, commanded by a Vice Admiral. The Special Operations Command is responsible for conducting the force's special operations and missions, with a focus on unconventional warfare, counter-terrorism and special reconnaissance. The Special Operations Command is commanded by a Rear Admiral, and is the smallest subdivision of the Naval Service in size that sees direct warfare. The Electronic and Cybernetic Warfare Command is responsible for the coordination of the force's intelligence, information warfare, cybernetic protection and the shared management of the nation's military satellites. It is commanded by a Rear Admiral.
Lazarene Fleet
The largest Fleet under the Joint Fleet Forces Command, the Lazarene Fleet is a theater-level component responsible for operations mainly including, but not limited to, the Lazarene Sea. It is commanded by an Admiral, and coordinates the operations of the 1st and 3rd Fleets.
