Wuyan (Jinic: 烏焰; Zimu: Wūyàn), officially the National People's Republic of Wuyan, is a country in east Porculea. Located in the xxx Sea roughly 20km off the mainland. It shares maritime borders with xxx to the west, xxx to the north, and xxx to the south via the Alenquer Islands. The nation is made up of 172 Islands, the priciple island being Wuyan Island, also known historically as Cinenta which hosts the majority of the population as well as the Capital Fuxian, and the largest city Yuphutsen.

Wuyan has inhabitted by humans for roughly 22,000 years. the first known civilization comes from the Yushu River Basin located on the southwest coast of Wuyan island dating as far back as 5,000BCE. Typically called the Pit-House Culture they are known for their use of large and complex pit style dwellings, which indicate they lived in large multigenerational homes. The Pit-House also shows signs of early dog domestication, and the farming and processing of millet. The ancestors of Wuyans indigenous community migrated into the region Porculean-Pelagean Litorial Boundry Zone around 1000BCE. In the 15th the island was formally incorperated into the Besak Dynesty, undergoing a series of colonial migrations, especially from northern regions. Southerners still had immense sway in the region, making up the majority of local officials. Wuyan was one of the principle locations in the Heipijian Rebellion, which overthrew the Hogwai Dynasty in 1867. Wuyan was one of the main loyalist territories during the Breakup of Zansyun, becoming one of the main safe zones during the Northern Evacuations, it was occupied by the victories forces in the aftermath of the Tetrabellum where in 1952 it was organized into a republic.

Wuyan remained relatively poor in comparison to other Porculean states until the 1980's. It experianced rapid economic growth and industrialization, transitioning from a predominatly lower income, dependent on fishing, and textiles to a high income, export oriented economy primarially driven by the Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, and Electronics sectors. Wuyan was a One-party state led by the GMD since the 1950's. In 1997 the Jade Revolution succesfully ushered in political reforms that led to the first multi-party elections in the country in 1999.

Wuyan is a developed nation, with a strong market oriented economy while the country is a multi-party democracy the ruling GMD maintain a high degree of control over the nations politics, having been in power since independence in 1952, only being relegated to the opposition once between 2008-2013. Wuyan is a founding member of the Porculean Development Bank, the Fuxian Group, and the Global Development and Trade Forum.
