The Great Plague of Hesperidesia was the first in a series of devastating plague waves that swept across Hesperidesia during the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. The Great Plague is believed to have killed nearly 1.7 million people, which was approximately 7% of the entire Empire of Exponent at the time.
The Great Plague caused profound social and economic changes within Hesperidesia, and brought a decisive end to the Hesperidesian Golden Age that began in the late 1300's.
