The Hesperidesian plague is a viral hemorrhagic fever in humans and other primates. The virus is spread typically through airborne droplets or contact with bodily fluids, such as blood, as well as with objects that have been contaminated by bodily fluids.

The virus is believed to have initially developed within Primate populations in Hesperidesia, and spread to the human population during the rapid urbanization of Hesperidesia that led to more humans encroaching upon the dense jungles of the Hesperidesian Backlands.
