Geography

Spruce Knob.jpg

Piedmont consists of three geographic regions: The Spruceton Mountains, The Grand Plateu, and the Cascadian coastal plain. The Northern head of the Spruceton Mountain region is marked by Point Talmadge, which lies on the border of Piedmont, Shenandoah, and Copperhead. The Southern side of the Spruceton Mountain region is marked by steep escarpments such as the Allegheny Front and Treutlen Ridge. The Spruceton Mountain Range extends over a considerable distance, forming a natural barrier that separates the states of Piedmont, Copperhead, and Shenandoah. Mount Brass, the highest peak in the range, stands as a symbol of the region's grandeur, reaching an elevation of 4,784 feet.
