The Head of the Netherlands Armed Forces (Dutch: Hoofd van de Nederlandse krijgsmacht) is the supreme command authority of the Netherlands Armed Forces, a role vested in the monarch of the Netherlands by the Constitution of the Netherlands. However, while officially the supreme head of the armed forces, and to whom members of the armed forces plead allegiance, de facto executive authority rests in the Prime Minister of the Netherlands and the Minister of Defence.
