Gaema Moosa Corporation is a multinational private military corporation(PMC) founded in 1991. The company's name comes from the cavalry of Goguryeo, an ancient kingdom of Joseon. Gaema Moosa Corporation is also the largest PMC in Asia today.

Since its establishment in 1991, Gaema Moosa Corporation has only carried out contracts commissioned by the Joseon government and the military. However, in 2001, Gaema Moosa Corporation began to expand its business reach worldwide and commission various clients in line with the surge in demand from PMCs worldwide.

Gaema Moosa Corporation is well known for only performing contracts with internationally recognized customers without being included in UN sanctions. This is in contrast to many PMCs being controversial over customer morality issues.

History

Gaema Moosa Corporation was founded in 1991 by Cha Ki Seon, a colonel-turned-businessman of UDT/SEAL, a naval special forces unit of Joseon. Cha Ki Seon started his mercenary business by hiring former Special Forces soldiers who belonged to his unit and former soldiers who belonged to other units, and the scope of his business ranged from training foreign troops to performing combat missions as a proxy.

Due to the nature of the company, most of the contracts that Gaema Moosa Corporation fulfills are unknown. However, According to what has been publicly revealed, in 1995, the Gaema Moosa Corporation successfully killed Pol Pot by dispatching mercenaries from special forces at the request of the Cambodian government. Pol Pot was a dictator who carried out genocide known as the Killing Fields in the 1960s and 1970s.

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks sent demand for PMCs soaring worldwide. The U.S. launched the 'War on Terror' and other countries have begun strengthening their security against terrorism. Gaema Moosa Corporation has expanded its operations worldwide since 2001 and has won contracts from many customers, including the U.S. government.

The largest client for Gaema Moosa Corporation was the U.S. Department of Defense. The U.S. Department of Defense has also signed contracts with foreign PMCs such as Gaema Moosa Corporation, as well as American PMCs, including Blackwater. Gaema Moosa Corporation has mainly conducted patrols in unstable areas, conducted auxiliary missions for U.S. forces, and trained new government forces of Iraq and Afghanistan.

During the War on Terror, the Gaema Moosa Corporation was known as the PMC, which was free from war crimes. In contrast to other PMCs who were frequently involved in war crimes and sometimes committed war crimes themselves, Gaema Moosa Corporation complied with international law following strict in-house regulations and disciplined or fired mercenaries who violated international law.

Today, Gaema Moosa Corporation is one of the largest operating PMCs. It carries out contracts commissioned by specific individuals and companies, as well as countries and international organizations, and has branches in 20 countries around the world.

Equipment

Gaema Moosa Corporation used military equipment from the former Soviet Union frequently in its early days, but today, as its business expands, it uses equipment produced in various countries, including the United States, Russia, China, Joseon, and Israel. In addition, Gaema Moosa Corporation also operates vehicles, such as main battle tanks, armored vehicles, and helicopters, in case it has to carry out large combat contracts.
