Potatoes (Yoganian: Burgrel, Kjerso: Kobollar, French: Pomme de terre) are the most grown crop in Yogania, even surpassing wheat. They account for 39% of harvested land according to the Yoganian Statistics Institute (YSI) Yogania is also the biggest exporter of potatoes in the world, with 21% of the world exports (1,2 billion $). Potatoes are also an important part of Yoganian cuisine, according to the YSI, the average Yoganian household eats about 475 kilograms of potatoes a year, which makes Yoganians the biggest potato consumers on average in the world.

Yoganian minister of agriculture, Yogner Goltrad said in a 2018 interview with HGTV News : "Potatoes are very important in Yogania, not just for the economy or as a food source, but also in Yoganian culture. Think about it, almost every Yoganian stereotype involves potatoes in some way [...], it may be funny said like this, but I think potatoes are an integral part of Yoganian society."
