History

Geography

The Old Town is located entirely on Hókoà pā Salvador as it would provide safety from tribal raids. The island is an extinct volcano that erupted along the Wallene hotspot about 3 million years ago, however, erosion and isostatic change has created geographic features such as Blue Eye Harbour, Hókoà zā Saone Maria, and Hókoà pā Saon Nikolau.
