Maria Alejandra Reyes (born March 13, 2034) is a Carinansian politician, businessman, lawyer and soldier who is the incumbent senator representing the Séoyan 4th District in the National Congress. She previously served as chief executive officer of the law firm Reyes Sobong, one of the wealthiest and most prestigious in the country. Before that, she was a member of the Serene Strategic Support Force as a hacker for over twenty years, involved in several cyber assault operations against states hostile to the Serenacy.
The daughter of two Valoran working-class parents in modern-day Sierna Sur, she was one of the country's most prolific and notorious lawyers throughout her legal career; culminating in the incorporation of Reyes Sobong, which today is one of the country's largest.
Early life and education
Maria Alejandra Reyes was born on March 13, 2034, at the San Rodrigo General Hospital in Baragado, in modern-day Sierna Sur, but which was at the time a part of the recently-annexed Valora Territory. She was the fourth child of Oscar Reyes, and Yvonne Reyes. She lived in Baragado with her parents until the age of 4, when they divorced. She moved to Punto Banderas, São Lenoas, shortly afterwards with her father, who became employed as a dock worker for Curbelo, S.A. shortly after arriving. From ages 5 to 12, she attended Deria Grade School, and from 13 to 18, she attended Hugo Carita Public High School. She had four siblings in total, including Oscar Reyes, Roberto Reyes, Isidora Sainz, and Javier Reyes, who died in a car crash aged 14.
Selcent
Upon graduating from high school, she applied to Selcent, initially eager to serve in the Serene Army as a military officer, but shifting focus to the Serene Strategic Support Force after only a couple weeks attending. Her teachers have stated she was an exemplary student throughout her time there, with her academic records revealing she only earned one B throughout her time there. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science, she enlisted in the service as an officer cadet.
Military service and legal education (2056-2084)
Military service
Reyes underwent the ten-week officer training course which was at the time standard for cadets at the Serene Strategic Support Force, receiving the rank of Sublieutenant after the conclusion of the training. For her entire military career, she was a part of the 13th Cyber Assault Unit, which was a nascent military unit when she first enlisted, but became one of the most-feared cyber attack units by the time she was discharged.
Revolutionary College of Oligi
After receiving an honourable discharge in March 2078, she received a Serene Armed Forces scholarship to attend the prestigious law program at the Revolutionary College of Oligi. When she received a Bachelor of Laws in 2081, she continued her legal studies at the school, receiving a Master of Laws in 2084. Upon entering the legal work force, she received an associate position at Carmen Barrios Quesada, where she remained for five years.
