Perth Country (Lainerovan étendard: Phénoupeurte) is a region of South Neviersia. It shares borders with The West Layners to the south, the country of Manima to the west, the Upper Norlands to the north, Midland Region to the east, and a five-kilometre border with The Durbanites to the southeast. The town of Perth, which the region is named after, is the seat of government of the Perth Country Regional Council. With a population of 1,748,000 as of 2024, and a land area of 112,396 square kilometres, Perth Country is one of the most sparsely populated regions in South Neviersia.

The region is best known for the Perthian Hills, which encompass the entire region. This has contributed to the 'Perthian Tiger' in the early 2000s, when multiple local businesses opened within Perth Country to accommodate the rising number of tourists. Skiing, hiking and hunting are common pastimes.

Governance

The Perth Country Regional Council is the regional authority for Perth Country, based in the town of Perth, Country Perth. Paul Seymour of the Conservative Party was elected as the Premier of Perth Country in 2023 for a four-year term.

Economy

Due to its proximity to Adel, The West Layners, the second largest city in South Neviersia, coupled with lower corporation tax compared with The West Layners, several international businesses have set up headquarters in commuter towns in southern Perth Country, including Drobon Blythe, Hawthorne, Gleneden and Kiltrome.

Demography

SN Statistics counted a total of 1,748,102 inhabitants residing in Perth Country in 2024. Perth Country has no official cities; the town of Perth, the region's capital and largest settlement, only has a population of 92,000, short of the population requirement of 100,000.

The majority of Perthians have European ancestry, typically of British-Irish origin. At the 2024 census, the ethnicities of Perth Country were as follows (ethnicities add to more than 100% as citizens could choose more than one ethnic group):

Perth Country's mountainous terrain lends itself to skiing, hiking and mountaineering in summer. There are several ski resorts around Perth, Kiltrome, Drobon Blythe, Tutiennes and Killarney, with various cable car systems and chair lifts.

The Winter Olympic Games were held across Perth and various towns in northern County Sonderford.
