Claxelende, officially the Grand Duchy of Claxelende, is a country in Southeastern Brilith. It also includes overseas territories in Western Inea. Claxelende shares borders with Salajón in the north, Ledonia and Berush to the east, Verdelain to the west, and a maritime border with Papadroupoli to the south. Claxelende is a highly urbanized country, consisting of 37 major population centers, in total accounting for 280,000,000 residents. Its capital city is Poyßtein, a largely rural city, while the largest city, Klagenhaues, is also a cultural center.

Toponymy

The name "Claxelende" is derived from the Middle Ledono-Claxus name Clexclilegni, which in turn is derived from Old Ledono-Claxus Clexelongebiett, which means "land of the Claxkcuuns". The Claxkcuuns were one of the Ledonian tribes that settled in Claxelende during the Early Ledonian Ages. The Claxkcuuns came from the Claxialongebett island.
