Design
Tracks
The Standard-gauge Track is a 2,000 mm gauge of track. The track is made out of high-strength titanium-steel alloy with reinforced concrete foundations to properly anchor the tracks to the ground and to prevent the tracks from corroding.
These tracks cost about A$50,000 per kilometer to install. These tracks will cost about A$50 million per thousand kilometer to install but will not need maintenance for decades.
Locomotive
The trains use a 2,000 V DC current from an overhead catenary as the main source of electricity for every carriage, which feed into the locomotive's electrical distribution system. The locomotive has a large battery capable of carrying a 24-hour backup electrical supply in the event that the electrical supply from the catenary ceases.
The Locomotive, which is the same size as the other carriages of the train, has the Conductor's Cabin, a private restroom, a sleeping cabin, electrical storage and distribution systems, an HVAC system, a water and sewage supply, and a radio booth.
The speed of these trains is measured at an average top speed of 250 km/h.
Carriages
Each train typically has ten carriages of 30 meters in length and 3 meters in width, one of which is the locomotive. Railcars are numbered based on distance from the locomotive, with lower numbers being closer to the locomotive.
