Tengoku Four

The Tengoku Four were four powerful monopolies active from the early 20th century until the end of the Tengoku period. These companies were classified as Imperial Companies and were owned directly by the Tengoku dynasty.

In Mikochi, the Tengoku Four were highly controversial due to their reliance on indentured and criminal labor in factories, low wages, and substantial profit margins that primarily benefited the Tengoku Family rather than being reinvested into the companies or the country.

Following the defeat of the Tengoku dynasty in the civil war, the Tengoku Four were disbanded and restructured into smaller entities.

  • Umikyo Grand Shipyard - The Umikyo Grand Shipyard was responsible for the creation of the Imperial Navy, as well as many civilian and industrial ships. Much of the Umikyo Grand Shipyards have been redeveloped for other uses, and whats left is split between the Shiokaze Shipyard and Umikyo Shipyard, both under administration of the Mikochinese Coast Guard.
  • Mikochi Motor Works - Mikochi Motor Works was the only company permitted to build and sell civilian vehicles until the end of the civil war. MMW designed a wide range of both luxury cars for exports, and cheap, small cars for use in Mikochi. Additionally, the MMW created a wide range of agricultural vehicles, such as Tractors and Pickup Trucks.
  • Tengoku Arsenal - Tengoku Arsenal was the primary military goods producer for Mikochi, producing small arms, military vehicles, uniforms and armoured vehicles. Most of the Tengoku Arsenal's production assets were given to the Mikochi Defense Group to produce equipment for the new Defence Forces, however Kabuto Motors also recieved many of the tank plants, which were subsequently converted into factories producing construction vehicles.
  • Tengoku Steelworks - Tengoku Steelworks was a critical component of the Tengoku industrial complex, providing the steel necessary for the country's infrastructure, military, and industrial needs. Following the civil war, Tengoku Steelworks was divided into several smaller entities, with the largest portions forming Umikyo Steel Corporation, and several regional steel producers, such as Akahama Steel.
