Roses Without Thorns, nicknamed Lacia is a region founded by the Queendom of Quihorshe on December 31, 2023, with the region officially starting on March 23rd, 2023 due to a reset. It is a roleplaying region with an active playerbase and an ongoing roleplay being posted on the Roses Without Thorns News feed. RWOT is a Frontier, where new nations can spawn in. As of July 8th, RWOT is the 90th largest region in NationStates and the 20th largest frontier, with 310 nations currently residing in the region. 73 regions currently host embassies in Roses Without Thorns, with the oldest embassy still open is the embassy with the Commonwealth of Idiots.
Roses Without Thorns has it's own original map,[2] where nations can create colonies and wage war on each other through roleplay, with the map being updated every Monday.
Regional History
Pre-Starting
Roses Without Thorns was officially founded on December 31,2023 by the Queendom of Quihorshe, with the region only having 2 nations by the end of January. Much of regional history during this time was undocumented and lost.
The Raid
On February 3rd, 2024, Roses Without Thorns was tag raided with an attack by the Brotherhood of Malice and the Black Hawks, successfully seizing the region and becoming WA delegate. The region opened embassies with many raider groups and officially remained occupied until defenders came and retook the delegacy on February 14th. Regional embassies with raider regions were subsequently closed a few days later.
Post - Starting
Roses Without Thorns officially started on the 23rd of March 2024, with the fall of Kelra forcing many of it's residents to relocate to Roses Without Thorns, with the first official WA delegate Tyra Melin being elected on the 21st of March (22nd for Asians). The region began hosting multiple embassies, with over 11 embassies by the end of March.
The World Assembly Delegates of Roses Without Thorns
Tyra Melin - First Term (21 March - 9 May)
Tyra Melin was the first delegate of Roses Without Thorns, overseeing the rapid growth of the region from 6 nations before taking office to 193 nations by April 15th. This period also saw the starting of the Lacian roleplay.
Lethinia - First Term (9 May - 11 May)
Lethinia briefly became the WA Delegate of Roses Without Thorns before Tyra Melin once again took the delegacy two days later.
Tyra Melin - Second Term (11 May - 3 July)
Tyra Melin's second term would last 52 days, the longest term ever served by a RWOT delegate. During this period saw the continued growth of the region, both with the increasing magnetism of the region and the publicity it's members were giving to the region. By the end of Tyra's second term, Roses Without Thorns was nearing 300 nations.
Braisenburg (4 July- 8 July)
Braisenburg only had the delegacy for four days, during which Roses Without Thorns finally cracks 300 nations.
Lethinia - Second Term (8 July- ongoing)
Lethinia was recently elected World Assembly Delegate of RWOT for the second time.[3]

2004
The Dawn (March 2004)
The fall of Kelra led many of it's powerful nations to flee the planet and resettle on a new planet, Lacia in 2004.
In the beginning, the world of Lacia was inhabited by six nations: Kelban Island, Abarc , Plajevo, Braisenburg, Lethina and Franexia. These nations were considered the first civilizations to rise and thrive in Lacia.
As Lethinia has inhabited the peninsula for a very long time, the nation seeked to expand outside its borders. The looked up, at the Aviére Islands and at the east, the Loten Highlands. Lethinia decided to do a bold move by claiming these lands mentioned, making Lethinia the first ever nation to expand past its borders. They built settlements at the places, thankfully there werent habited by native tribes which could disturb the inhabiting process.
As Lethinia inhabited the Aviére Isles, some sailors decided to explore farther from the isles and they discovered smth shocking. Many Islands!! .They decided to name it "The Aviére Archipelago". Lethinia decided to inhabit these isolated islands and build many settlements .Many people called these expansions "Early-Colonization" (not "full" colonization) bcs these newly claimed islands being far away from the mainland.
As Lethinia was expanding, The great Empire of Kelbania is growing in strength. Their glorious Emperor Henry Wert, had decided to make their military more powerful. The decision was made a month ago, and now their military vehicles are one of the most powerful in all of Lacia. The Royal Military has now 1,250,000 active personnel and even more in reserves. Their vehicles have also got an upgrade. They had made new generation of Tanks, Armored Vehicles and Fighting Jets They have now 3,000 tanks, 20,000 Armored Vechicles, 600 New generation Fighting Jets and around 7,000 other class vehicles.
The Kelbania Emperor had also made another decision. After being notified of a terrorist organization forming near the Empire, Emperor Henry Wert has decides to fortify our borders. They now have 470,000 soldiers securing safety of our Nation. ,,
The Empire will maintain its safety at all costs''- said Emperor Henry Wert in his last public speech.
The Colonization Event (April 2004)
Many nations, not wanting to be left behind by the expanding Lethinia, also began setting up colonies all throughout Lacia. The first of these was Kelban Island, after their great Emperor announced the expansion of the Kelbanian Empire. As he has said in his last public speach, The Kelbanian Empire will expand south, taking many forest territories, as well as some of desert territories. The great Nation will also form a small border with the United States of Youthenheim. This new change will help Kelban Island in improving our relations with the USY and hopefully, make us close allies.
Kelban Island had Colonized a part of the Island north to the main land of Kelbanian Empire. The colony has been named Kelbania and will be ruled by Prime Minister Claus Renti. There are some reports that the Island is inhabited by primitive tribes, but for now they stay hidden. Emperor Henry Wert has decided to colonize the island, becouse of its high amount of Petroleum that we need for evolving our military, industry, etc. Besides that, the colony will be avaiable as a place to live for citizens when the first city will be built.
As Kelban Island was expanding, Lethinia also carried out expansions of it's own again, with Lethinia having colonized two peninsulas (named Fersé) as a Royal Colony in Lethinia. But shockingly natives lived there, but thankfully they weren't hostile and were willing to talk. Lethinia got all of its land while the Natives became a "Princely state" AKA a colony but not a colony and more autonomous. The Natives decided to become a "Princely state" because they dont really wanna fight a nation that has a 28-tuple army and it was better to be a "Princely state" instead of dying and being a territory.
As April 2004 was coming to a close, the Kelbanian Empire's emperor delivered a speech to the Kelbanian public, announcing the end of the Kelbanian Rapid Colonization.
Hello citizens of the Kelbanian Empire. This is a direct message from the Emperor Henry Wert: Today, our Empire has made Another Colony! It is our fifth and for now, final colony. With the new colony, comes a new chapter of our Empire. The Kelbanian Empire is no more. From now on, the will be the Kelbanian Colonial Empire You may ask, what is the first decision of the Kelbanian Colonial Empire? Well i come with an answer. We have been long enough threatened by the Terrorist organization know as GROT Kelban People. Thats why the Royal Kelbanian Armies have now crossed the border between Kelbanian Colonial Empire and GROT Kelban People. It is our only Military operation and we dont want any help from other nations."- DM from Emperor Henry Wert to the Kelbanian people.
During the rapid colonization event, the nation of Franexia also had its election on the new Franexian Prime Minister. The election featured three candidates for the position, Maksim Rewiń (Workers Party of Franexia (WPF)), Raxon Qort (Franexian Republican Party (FPP)), Jack Wert (Cousin of the Emperor of Kelban Island) (Democratic Party of Freedom (DPF)), and Franek Rebin (Elite Military Group of Franexia (EMGF)). The elections took place on the 10th of April with the WPF candidate Maksim Rewin winning the election.
War of Humanity and Freedom (May 2004)
Plajevó’s newly elected Prime Minister, Иулій Купавнікӣ (Yuliy Kupavniki) , states in a press conference that, “The use of Slave labor in Terispol, one of the Kelbanian Empire’s many holdings, is unacceptable to the principles on which Plajevo was founded. We have started an initiative to help escaped slaves find better homes and lives in our own nation.” She went on to say how when she talked to some slaves about what they had experienced, she was absolutely overwhelmed. The Plajevi Saṅulu has decided that they will be hosting airlifts from the colony to get them out of there. These escaped slaves will be provided with free therapy sessions and new jobs will be made accordingly.
Meanwhile on the Second of May, the Axis of Freedom (consisting of Kelban Island, Franexia and Bealtiamor) declared war on the International League of Humanity (ILH) (consisting of Braisenburg, Tyra Melin ,Querteria, Plajevo and Youthenheim). The Kelbanian Prime Minister Rick Saris had decided to declare war because of the fact that Youthenheim is protecting the government of GROTKP, Kelbania's enemy. The soldiers of Kelbanian Colonial Empire soon entered Youthenheim and were marching to the Baranski City (The capital of Youthenheim). The Prime Minister had also decided that the Kelbanian Colonial Empire is not good enough. Because of that, the PM had officially declared the formation of the new Kelbanian Military Empire.
Within only a few hours of the AOF's declaration of war on the ILH, the Kelbanian Military Empire had already occupied 10 kilometers of USY's mainland and 4 kilometers of Silecia (colony of USY). As the KCE pushed into Youthenheim, Bealtiamor had entered Querteria which had 0 soldiers present at the border.
Franexia meanwhile had sent 4,000,000 men to attack Tyra Melin from the south (territories that are closest to Franexia). The Franexian Army captured a military unit of 200,000 people and had captured a small piece of land. It was estimated that around 500,000 Franexian soldiers died in the attack, but Franexia soon sent another 2,000,000 people to the front for reinforcements. For now, Franexia was occupying 4 small cities and 3 small villages, but the nation has repeatedly expressed it's commitment to capturing all of Tyra Melin.
Kelbanian Military Empire has occupied 10 kilometers of USY's mainland and 4 kilometers of Silecia (colony of USY).
