The Ilethlean Isles (Alfarian: Le Isole Ilethlean), commonly known as 'Ilethlean' or the 'Alfar Isles', is an extra-regional state under the jurisdiction of the Alfar Imperium in Gholgoth. Ilethlean is a collection of Fifteen inhabited islands and several hundred smaller, uninhabited islands in the Levanora Vastness, a transitory region of the world. Ilethlean is overseen directly by Queen Maeralya and is administered locally by the Isinor Council, a selection of highly decorated Alfar politicians that oversee each populated island. Ilethlean is often seen as a gateway into the vastness of Levanora, where it is a major economic and political nation-state. It is among the most populous states known in Levanora, as well one of its largest geographically. The capital and largest city is Nilena Thalor, where it serves as a major diplomatic nexus in the region.

Ilethlean was colonized by the Imperium over two thousand years ago and formally inducted as a state of Amador in 1309 CE. Ilethlean is known as 'Cascendor' by their native tribes, a group of blue humanoid creatures known as 'Salfar'. In modern times, Salfar are prominently featured in the isle as notable members of its government and maintains several historical treasures that have proven to be popular tourist attractions. They are also known to be highly protective of their ancestral native lands, with small skirmishes regularly breaking out due to tourist venturing out of designated areas. There is a large progressive movement for additional representation in the Imperial government by the Salfar people, with their main arguing points being the past brutal treatments of their people by the Amadorian elves.

As much as ten percent of Ilethlean's land area is dedicated solely for nature reserves and parks. Three-fourths of naturally occuring flora and fauna are are now only found in dedicated nature preserves, including the Ilethlean Botanic Gardens, among the most popular attractions in the nation. There has been a substantial decline in natural space owing in part to extensive urbanization of limited land available. To combat environmental loss, the Amaldorein government, starting in 2000 AD has set aside as much at 10 % of the city-state's land to preserve, protect, and cultivate local flora and fauna.

There are an estimated 974 species of vascular plants in Ilethlean, of which 478 are considered endangered. An estimated 65 species of mammals, 284 species of bird, 87 species of reptiles, and 13 species of amphibians native to Ilethlean.

Climate

Ilethlean has a tropical rain forest climate with no apparent distinctive season, relatively distinctive uniform temperatures, high humidity, and abundant bordering heavy rainfall. Temperatures typically range from 20 to 35 °C. Temperature does not vary greatly through the year, though the winter seasons see the most variations. There is a wetter monsoon season from November through January where rainfall exceeds 200 mm per month.

The main variable that affects Ilethlean's climate is rainfall, not temperature or air pressure. Humidity ranges anywhere between 65 % to 90 % on an average day, with several weeks of 100 % during the summer months. Winds are typically moderate, exceeding 30 km/h on occasion and are considered quite predictable. The waters surrounding Ilethlean are relatively warm, affecting land temperatures steadily.

Ilethlean averages roughly 2700 hours of sunshine per year. Sunshine hours were highest during the summer, where some days exceeded 12 hours of sunshine. Winter months, notably during December, average sunshine hours may exceed no more than 6 total hours daily.

Average water temperature ranges do not vary greatly, owing to Ilethlean equatorial proximity in the Levanora Vastness. Average temperatures range from 17-18 degrees Celsius year round, with minor variances during winter months and summer months.
