Adrian Quaritch is a general of the Royal Joseon Marine Corps and the current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs Staff of the Royal Joseon Armed Forces. He is also the longest-serving general at the Royal Joseon Marine Corps. He is a veteran general who has made outstanding achievements in several overseas wars involving the Joseon military.
Early life
Adrian Quaritch was born in New York, U.S.A. He lived in Newark until he was 10 years old, and moved to Joseon at the age of 11 with his parents who worked at an American car manufacturer's Joseon branch. Adrian Quaritch started attending elementary school in Joseon at the age of 11. And when Adrian Quaritch was 13, his family acquired Joseon nationality. According to his academic records in elementary, middle, and high schools, Adrian Quaritch not only performed well in his studies, but also particularly excelled in his physical education-related competencies. He also had good companionship and showed very high scores for volunteer work.
Adrian Quaritch entered the Naval Academy with excellent grades after graduating from high school. According to interviews, this is due to the influence of his father, who once served in the U.S. Navy briefly.
Career
Adrian Quaritch decided to serve in the Marine Corps after graduating from the Naval Academy. A commissioned second lieutenant in the Marine Corps, he began his career with The 3rd Marine Division's Island Area Defense Unit. With experience as a commander, Adrian Quaritch moved to The 1st Marine Division after being promoted to lieutenant. His rating in the 3rd Marine Division was ordinary, but his rating turned out to be very good in the 1st Marine Division. This includes high marks for Adrian Quaritch's operational performance and very positive evaluations from his subordinate soldiers.
In 2009, Adrian Quaritch was appointed deputy commander of Joseon military in Afghanistan shortly after his promotion to colonel. He gained various command experiences and know-how by assisting commanders after being dispatched to Afghanistan, and led several battles on the field to victory without friendly casualty. Returning to Joseon in 2012, he was awarded the Chungmu Order of Military Merit in recognition of his outstanding achievements.
In December 2021, Adrian Quaritch was appointed as the Marine Corps Commander. Since taking over as the Marine Corps Commander, Adrian Quaritch has improved the Marine Corps' combat training based on several combat experiences and led the modernization of Marine infantry equipment.
In 2023, in the New England War, Adrian Quaritch was appointed as the commander-in-chief to lead an entire units of Joseon troops. Adrian Quaritch successfully joint operations with troops from several allies, including Meridon and Eulabia. Despite quite many casualties on the first day of the battle, Adrian Quaritch led the battle to victory in the last battle without any casualties based on information gathered by troops and field commanders.
In August 2023, Adrian Quaritch was appointed chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as successor to Army General Kim Bum-Seok.
