Jonathan Catalá (born 4 November 1988) is a North Kandsonian politician and economist who currently serves at the acting-President of North Kandson since September 5th, 2024, as well as the National Assembly Chairman since 2022. He first entered politics being elected to represent his home district in North Chocaster in 2014 at the age of 26, and from 2019-22 served as the Minister of the Economy and Innovation. A member of United Kandson, Catalá initially was a loyalist of president Perie Jefferson, but since 2022 has been one of his harshest critics due to Jefferson's suppression of pro-democracy demonstrations after a controversial reelection. During the outbreak of the Roca War, Jefferson's diplomatic altercations with EUEEN and other international allies held up vital military aid, and National Assembly voted to remove Jefferson and install Catalá in a caretaker government.
Early life and education
In 2008, Catalá graduated from the University of Chocaster with a Bachelor of Economic and Social Studies. After graduation he worked as an author and editor of the news portal Chocaster Tribune, and also worked as a business analyst for multiple companies.
