The highways in Rojadavistan are divided into three types: motorways, state roads and provincial roads.
Otoban
The Otoban is the national network of controlled-access highways in Rojadavistan. The term Otoban translates to motorway while the literal meaning is auto-route. The first otobana opened in 1975. As of January 2024, there are over 3,700 km of otoban in service. By 2040, the network is expected to expand to 5,325 kilometres. The maximum speed limit on the otoban is 130 km/h.
Otoban have a two digit-designation prceded by a O.
State roads
State roads (Rêya Dewletê) are the primary road network in the country. The majority are four-lane divided highways with interchanges, but others are two-lane highways or roadways with traffic lights and intersections. This network is under the responsibility of X except for within large cities where the respective city municipality assumes responsibility.
All state roads have a three digit-designation preceded by a D, numbered based on direction and location: D0XX-D4XX are west-east roads, D5XX-D9XX are north-south roads; main roads are designated as multiples of 100 and 50, with the exception being D.010 - multiples of 100 are main east-west and while multiples of 50 are main north-south roads.
Provincial roads
Provincial roads (Rêya Parêzgehê) in Rojadavistan are maintained by X. These roads serve as secondary roads to the State Roads and mainly connect small towns (every district's capital town is accessible either by a state or provincial road) or acting as alternative routes to the trunk roads.
A provincial road is governed under the responsibility of the respective provincial government. These roads are proceded with a P and bears the license plate number of that province in the road identification number's first half (example 10-03 in Basûr Province).
