Østerdaal is a Region of Greater Normark that lies in the southeastern corner of the country. The capital and largest city is the historical town Daal, with a municipality population of 417,000 and metropolitan population of 780,000. Other cities of note in the region are the christian centre of Sandfjord and the former lumber capital of Elgfoss.
