The Ishuru Islands (Azurnailian: イシュル, Azgarian:伊修魯) are a chain of islands south of the island of Rekuna, the islands are claimed by both Azurnailia and Gohan. As part of the Attera Sea Mandate and the Xilu Territory, it was where the 2017 Border dispute occurred, and this problem still remains to be fixed. The international community recognizes as part of Azurnailia, while some countries recognize it as part of Gohan.
Importance
The main reason why this specific island chain is important, is due to the cultural aspects of the island. According to the Azgarian Religion, this is the spot where the god of water, Xing en, descended upon the world, which brought the great flood. This repeled Iwatean Invaders in the battle of Xilu.
However Azurnailia sees it as a part of the Rekunian Islands, and says that its an Azur Lane base, which was established back in the 60s during the Second Azur-Gohan war.
Eventually the international community demilitarized the islands, declaring it a free zone. This has led the island to be a tax haven. Eventually leading to the creation of the RCP.
Minor Conflict
The Islands were subject to a two day occupation from the Azur Lane, to establish the Attera Sea Mandate, to their surprise, Gohanian ships were docked in the city of Rejin (Iado). They were there for repairs and maintenance. When the report arrived to the Speaker of Congress, he internationally Denounced the head of the Gohanian Military, saying that it is a "Blatant disregard of the Treaty of Hyugano" the Gohanian HOM responded with a military occupation of the islands.
On September 29th 2015, only a week after the Azurnailian expedition to the area, Captain Matias Torres lead 900 Azurnailian troops against 1,100 Gohanian Troops in the battle of Iado. The battle claimed 400 lives and the battle was deemed inconclusive. Eventually the international community demilitarized the area. However the territory remains disputed between the two countries.
