Buyden (Kjerso: /βyiːdɛn/) formerly called Buyden-Gaarman is a town in north-eastern Yogania. It is located in the state of Bugan, in the region of Kjerso. Buyden is a suburb of Salgon, being only 1,3 kilometers away from the city and is a part of the Byroder Plain Metropolitan Area. The city of Buyden is most known for the Buyden Bridge, considered one of the oldest surviving landmarks in Bugan, built in 1721. It is also the biggest suburbs of the nearby large city of Salgon, with a population of over 70,000 inhabitants (YSI, 2024)

History

The first mention of the city was in a 1776 Salgon archive describing the two nearby villages of Buyden and Gaarman. The two towns eventually merged in 1815 to become Buyden-Gaarman. The name stayed until 1992 when it was shortened to Buyden.
