Profession

Manuel Simonetti Alves (6 April 1903 – 20 December 2007), or simply Simonetti Alves, was a Trenadian economist, professor and politician who served as Minister of Economy during the Ferreyra administration (1961–1964) and was part of the Federal Senate from 1973 to 1984. Alves is often considered the "godfather" of neo-developmentalism in the country's economic system, which has been applied in different administrations since the 1960s.
