United Future abbreviated as UF, is a liberal political party in Cascadea that was established in 2032. Led by Edwin Goharshah, the party is the largest in Cascadea, with 72 representatives in the People's Assembly. Founded in 2032 by Nicholas Jiang, it is the oldest extant political entity in Cascadea. The party holds a conference twice a year, where party policies are decided. Unlike its main rivals, United Future allow all members attending the conference to participate in debates and vote on policies through a one member, one vote system. Additionally, members can vote online on party policies and leadership elections.
United Future is a centrist to centre-left political party that draws on both liberalism and social democracy. Throughout its history, different factions have influenced the party, with some leaning toward the centre-left and others toward the centre. The party emphasizes civil liberties and supports a mixed economy, broader welfare, LGBT rights, international peace, environmental stewardship, and expanding Cascadea's universal healthcare system to include dental care, mental health care, eye and hearing care, infertility procedures, and prescription drugs. Additionally, the party has pushed for stronger environmental protections and opposed to imperialism in the World Assembly.
History
Right after the Great Divide ended and Cascadea declared its independence, United Future was established on October 20, 2031 with the tagline "Not Left. Not Right. Forward." The founders aimed to unite American voters against political partisanship and promote a collaborative approach to problem-solving. Initially, some skeptics perceived the group's early activities as an effort to support a potential third-party presidential campaign for Michael Bloomberg in 2012, a claim that both he and No Labels refuted. At its inaugural conference in 2010, No Labels had relatively few Republican attendees, and the movement faced significant criticism from the right during that time.
