One of the Chandelier's dilution refrigerators to cool down the quantum processors. The chandelier shape of the refrigerators is how the project got its name.

Project Chandelier is a Janpian Quantum Computer currently being developed by the D-Arithmos Systems Workers' Union, with special support from the Ministry of Industrial Development. The aim of the project is to create a computer capable of directing and controlling the Party's overall economic planning, as well as develop other cyber-synergies based on the reduction of traditional sorting algorithms and computeral time complexity. This opens to a lot of opportunities, with the union claiming that it will help the Party's space-faring endeavors, provided the use of qubits that utilizes superposition will enable faster recall on the spacecraft's massive instruction database. Furthermore, it is claimed that this can also help the Revolutionary Forces' cybersecurity measures, since the Project Chandelier would be capable of decrypting public key which normally takes weeks or months, to just a few hours. According to the Union, there are a lot more opportunities once the Project Chandelier is operational, such as being able to simulate quantum physics, and other complex mathematical problems. But for now, their main objective is to create a computer that can control the Party's economy with seamless database recall, fast calculation, and can conduct mathematical predictions in order to make a decision.

Origins

The Workers' Council of D-Arithmos Systems led by Urescha Toromii has long planned to create a quantum computer that can rival SACHI used in Darlingtown. As such, they began their endeavors with the development of a photonic quantum processor that can process up to 6 qubits, enabling it to process up to 64 binary states simultaneously. As compared to a normal 6 bit processor; while it can process 64 binary states, it has to do it one-by-one. This is mainly due to how bits can only represent one data at a time, that being 1 or 0, while a qubit can represent both states of it given the idea of superposition. In theory, this will make quantum computers much faster, and does not require much architecture. At that time, the idea of quantum computers was still in its infancy, and no unions in Janpia were researching towards it.

In 2015, the first Janpian quantum processor was developed by the union, named as DASQ-1 (Dusk-1), which is used to process the database of the Kalingrad Medical Institute. After their public release, their invention have garnered a lot of reception and has sparked the Party's interest in using quantum computers for other practical solutions. As such, during that period, they were approached by the Ministry of Industrial Development and made a tall agreement to develop a computer that can replace the functions of the Ministry of Economy and Trade. The agreement includes all the necessary resources or funding for the union, and in exchange, they must be able to present the computer under the span of 50 years, and must have also made a development map with yearly objectives, to see how far are they progressing.

This agreement was signed in August 2016, and at the same year, the project began. It was initially called as DUSQ-2. But within the union, it was widely referred to as the Chandelier, owing to the computer's dilution refrigerators which hangs above the ceiling.

Design

Following the agreement, the Workers' Union of D-Arithmos began working on a project which uses the application of quantum physics as a computer system. The design will be Circuit-Based, and just like normal circuit-based computers, it will still use logic gates to compute and function. However, the only difference is that the Chandelier would use superposition which places 1 and 0 at the same space. (TBA)

The computer's dilution refrigerators maintains at a below-zero degree temperature environment, going as far as 8.5 milli-Kelvin (mK), or -273.1415 Celsius. It was made by the union's cyrotonic wing, funded by the Ministry of Industrial Development (TBA)
