Ard Aleajayib, officially the Democratic People's Republic of Ard Aleajayib, is a country in Northwest Audonia. It is neighbored by Zaclaria, Kagazi, and Kandara; with to the east a very small coastline along the XXX. Qaidal is the nation's capital and largest city, followed by Port Dalem and Ash-Sharia. Ard Alaejayib's official languages are Obwene and Arabic. Ard Aleajayib is a Totalitarian Dictatorship, meaning that the ruler is the only one to control the country. The country is poor but thanks to the sale of its natural resources, the country is doing well. With this money the government develops the country and its economy. The country first appeared after the fall of the Oduniyyad Caliphate, who occupied the country for around 115 years until it's collapse, in 1517 CE. But this little visit changed the country a lot. The country was essentially based on a traditional religion and a distinct language, but then Arabic came and was enforced to the locals, thing that they didn't like. The national identity was banned, the Oduniyyad banned Obwene language and traditions, thing that they didn't respect, the Obwene still talking the local language, but Islam spread quickly and was popular and everyone was converting to Islam. But the country was not what it is today. Following the fall of the Oduniyyad Caliphate, Ard Aleajayib got it's independence. Islam was the main religion but Arabic wasn't as popular, the Obwene prefered their language than Arabic. This country will be the first version of Ard Aleajayib. Ard Aleajayib as we know today was only created in 1948, after more than 23 years of division and a war from 1941 to 1948, with a victory of the communist South.
Etymology
Originally called Obwenia before, the name Ard Aleajayib comes from Arabic, meaning "The land of Wonders". The country got it's name from the Oduniyyad Caliphate, and since then, the name was never changed.
History
The first written records for the history of Ard Aleajayib appeared after the collapse of the Oduniyyad Caliphate as the name of Caliphate of Arjayib, and was half of what Ard Aleajayib was today.

Language
Before the arrival of the Oduniyyad Caliphate, the country spoke Obwene, which was the language of the region. With the arrival of the Caliphate, Arabic was introduced, but wasn't really liked by the locals. The Obwene language resisted and stayed the major language, but was not liked by the Caliphate, which banned the language from being spoken, but this law was never respected. Obwene is the main language of Ard Aleajayib, but Arabic is also spoken by more than half of the country.
