Stoffel Vermark (October 22, 1831 – December 16, 1898) was the founder and first president of Rozengria. A renowned Boer leader and skilled tactician, he is responsible for leading the Vaalstroom Pioneer Column, establishing the Republic of Vaalstroom, which later amalgamated with the Kingdom of Barotseland to cause the foundation of the Rozengrian nation. Vermark is credited for laying the foundation for Rozengria’s government, establishing a constitution and a parliamentary system that granted limited roles to native African leaders but maintained a white-majority structure. A devout agricultural expansionist, Vermark prioritized the growth of Rozengria’s agrarian economy and the migration of Afrikaner settlers, alongside the foundation of the Rozengrian Police, a small but capable military force meant to defend Rozengria against regional threats. Vermark played an indispensable role in adopting and ratifying the Constitution of Rozengria, and his image is an icon of Rozengrian culture.
