The First Powell Ministry, also known as the First Powell Cabinet, formed the government of United Kingdom of Great Britain, Northern Ireland and Malta following the 1970 General Election which saw incumbent Harold Wilson removed from government in the wake of the 1970 Cyrpiot Crisis and collapsed approval ratings for Harold Wilson's Ministry. Enoch Powell was invited to form a government by Elizabeth II on the 17th of July, 1970.
