The Lappland Air Guard is the aerial branch of the Lappland Home Defense Force. The Air Guard patrols Lappland's airspace and assists the Lappland Coast Guard and Lappland Home Guard with aerial support for various operations.

History

The Lappland Air Guard was established in 1938, initially operating as a dedicated air defense component to offset the Home Guard in anti-air defense. The air guard received its first order of aircraft in 1946, receiving an order of five Dallenbach 303's aquired from Ostlichtor for air transport. In 1950 they received the first set of combat aircraft, a squadron of AB-1 produced by Ovlin for patrol and air defense.

The Lappland Air Guard has recently started harassing aircraft from Norreldis and Norreldian airspace (see Lappland-Norreldis Conflicts).
