Carla Velasco is a Bentheses politican serving as the Mayor of Caapulas. Born in Caapulas and lived there her whole life. She is the youngest Mayor in Bentho at 28. She was elected the youngest Congresswoman Being elected at 22 back in 2017. In 2021 She ran as mayor for the city of Caapulas and won at the age of 26 in 2021
Early life and education
When she was just 4 her mother died during a train derailment. Her father had to raise her by himself for 10 years till he remarried. When she was in high school she graduated top 2nd of her class and excelled in math and scieince.She got a scholarship from the Universty of Caapulas in 2014. During her time in college she met her current spouse Lucas Velasco.
Political Career
She was called the most critical of former president Andres Mendoza. During her time in the assembly she denounced many of his poliices and bill for negelecting Bentho's oath to protect nature. When Mendoza term was over she ran in 2021 for Caapulas Mayor. She was doing comunity work for the city, planting trees and helping pick up litter in parks. She got the term from locals 'The Green Lady'. She struck a deal with Libertadismo to not run a canidate and relunctly they agreed only if she put Cristian Cano who was the supposed Libertadismo canidate into her adminstartion. She won easily by 61.4% being the first Green Party Mayor of a city above the 500,000 population mark.
On November 28th 2024, Carla announced her run for Govenrer of Aregoyape for the 2025 election at a speech in Arena do Desafio.
