The 12 Day War (also called the 6th Vinalian Civil War) was a war between North Vinalia, and South Vinalia between July 1st and July 12th 1987. The war was the last of the termed Vinalian Struggle, which saw both Vinalia's involved in differing wars and conflicts with one another. And saw the end of military rule in the South, a permanent border established, and the beginning towards Vinalia which would be achieved in 1993.

The war came as a Southern attempt to overwhelm the perceived weakened North, through a quick invasion which would reduce tensions in the South which had been hit by protests over the human rights abuses committed by the government, economic regression, demands for democracy, among other concerns. The North had been perceived as weakened do to a greater emphasis on it's economy and the general worldwide retreat of Socialism following setbacks elsewhere.

The war was a watershed movement as it showcased the destructive power and speed of modern warfare, with a country such as South Vinalia regularly regarded as a well trained and armed army by international observers, was severely defeated in under two weeks. The employment of combined arms warfare proved to be the decisive factor, with North Vinalian units able to defeat numerically superior forces through the use of combined arms warfare.

Background

Following the 1975 war, South Vinalia had proven to be far more capable of suffering a blowback by Northern forces than expected. After suffering such a defeat, and the defeat of Danylo Palij in an emergency called election in September, brought the Socialist Party of Orest Ishkan into power. Ishkan called for an immediate reformation of the army, and began to negotiate a vast arms deal with Chistovodia that would bring it on par with Southern forces. At the time South Vinalia was able to easily acquire
