Early parliamentary elections will be held in Portogala to elect members of the 3rd Portogalan Parliament. The snap election was called after the fall of the Salazar Government, a three-party coalition, on 24th February 2023. The collapse was caused by the split of the Liberal Party and the creation of a new party - The Centre. This is the third parliamentary election in Portogala since September 2022.

Electoral system

The Portogalan Parliament is made up of 150 seats, and all are elected through open list, proportional representation on multi-member party lists in 6 electoral constituencies. Each of the 6 constituencies has a set number of parliamentarians that is divided through constituency results to ensure regional representation. A minimum of 4% of the national vote, or alternatively 12% or more within a constituency, is required for a party to enter the Parliament.
