The Capture of UNS Monroweville (14th January, 1866) was an attack launched by Okkamiduri pirates against the Balionic sloop-of-war UNS Monroweville. Part of the Union Navy's South Salorka Squadron, Monroweville was operating under the command of Captain Peter Wallace and entered Okkamiduri waters to restock its fresh water supplies at a coastal spring. While a portion of MonrowevilleTemplate:'s crew was ashore, three small xebecs sailed by pirate crews ambushed the sloop and, after a battle lasting about an hour, forced her to surrender. The incident caused a major diplomatic crisis between Okkamidur and Balion in the lead-up to the Okkamidur War of 1866. Monroweville was recaptured three days later by an Imperial Navy frigate, HMNS Warren, causing further embarrasment to the Union Navy, which had not even dispatched a response yet.
