Charlotte, therefore, was educated at Lord Chaffway's School in Richmond county as a boarder. She then attended college at Falscraf but did not stay for higher education, instead studying Combined History and Politics at the University of Central Gestoria. Despite her lack of experience as a resident diplomat, she was added to the Ambassadorial Roll in November 2019 (allegedy thanks to the influence of her mother). Following the death of Sir Lyle Fitz-Byre at the end of that month, Charlotte was appointed to head the Kenega Desk. a job at which she excelled.

Charlotte remained in charge of the Kenega Desk until the Ellers Scandal of June 2020. Sir Martin Ellers, serving as 9th Governor-General of Kenega, was indicted for corruption and embezzlement. It was found that Ellers had siphoned diplomatic funds and over-received expense payments into a Kenegan bank account and fraudulently purchased Kenegan bonds. Ellers was saved from imprisonment by the influence of several important friends and relatives and agreed to give the bonds to the Imperial Treasury. In order to keep Ellers out of public view for some time, he was appointed Ambassador to Kehrahn, a generally unimportant posting which Charlotte Randolph was being considered for.
