Cybria, officially the State of Cybria, is a constituent state of Delkora. It is the largest state by both population and area, and has long been a major economic and political center in Delkoran society. The state consists of the mainland as well as the islands of Alberød and Jårnland to the east.

Geography

Located in the northeast of Delkora, Cybria is the largest state by area. It is also notable for having the longest coastline, and its identity has long been shaped by its sea-faring heritage. The Grymvar mountain range occupies much of the northern interior of the state, while the northern coastal regions are heavily industrialized and home to major cities including Tybenhoth and Darzenbrom. The Trydenvar River passes through the state, forming part of the border with Førelskov. The southern regions, with the exception of the Norenstal metropolitan area, are primarily rural.

Demographics

As of the 2020 Federal Census, Cybria is home to over 24 million people, amounting to about 26% of Delkora's total population. It is the most diverse state, home to a large percentage of the country's immigrant community. This immigrant population has historically been concentrated in the northern cities, although southern Cybria has become increasingly diverse in recent years. The Cybrian islands are home to a notable Schottic minority.

Economy

The Cybrian economy is the largest of the Delkoran states, and contributes 28.3% of overall national GDP. It is heavily dominated by the service industry. Important economic sectors include information technology, telecommunication, and retail. It has a considerable manufacturing sector, second only to Førelskov. It has the largest tourism industry in Delkora.

Government and politics

The Cybrian Parliament is the unicameral legislative body of Cybria, consisting of 300 representatives. Astrid Marett is the current first minister, having served since 2012. The Constitutional Court of Cybria is responsible for interpreting the state's constitution and ensuring that state law adheres to its provisions.

Cybria has long been noted for its left-wing politics, and is considered a National Labor stronghold in both federal and state elections. Historians have noted that the state often pioneers progressive policies that are later adopted by other states or at the federal level in areas ranging from labor law to climate action.
