Geveret Eliana Golan, GK, OSE, KSM, PC, KC, FGLS, (née Cantor; Yehud: אליענה גולן; born 5 May 1973), is a Bashani lawyer who served as the 4th Governor of the Bashan Protectorate, from 2018 to 2022. She was the inaugural president of the Gallambrian Council for Human Rights in the Bashan, from July 2013 till March 2018.

Early Life

Golan was born in Mahanaim, Shomron, one of three children born to Tamas and Efrat Cantor; her father served as the Chief Minister of the Bashan Protectorate from 1993 till his death in 1999. She grew up in the suburb of Kokhav Ma'araviy, and was educated at public schools - Kokhav Ma'araviy Primary School, and Kokhav Ma'araviy All Girls High School. After completing high school, she completed her 2 years compulsory national service. Golan graduated from the Bashan School of Law at the University of Mahanaim in 1997 with a Bachelor of Law specialising in international and humanitarian law.

Career

Golan completed her traineeship with the Foreign Office's International Law Directorate, and was admitted to the Federal Bar in 1999. She was appointed King's Counsel (KC) in 2001.

Golan was a legal advisor to the Joint Committee for Human Rights and Equal Opportunity from 1999 to 2005, and was appointed as Senior Judicial Member of the Committee from 2005 until 2013. From 2013 till 2018, she served as the inaugural president of the Gallambrian Council for Human Rights in the Bashan.

Golan also served as chairperson on the executive council for Yachad from 2014 to 2018.
