Foreign Relations of Arcadie

The République Autonome d’Arcadie has, since the Red Winter of 1974, made an effort to maintain relations primarily within Esvanovia, somewhat scorning extraregional affairs despite its own capabilities in the realm of power projection. Arcadie is one of the few Lorist nations currently in existence, and the ideology has played a large role in their relations.

Foreign Policy of Key National Spokesmen

Marion Vaillant (1974-1990)

First National Spokesmen, serving 16 years. Factionally neutral pacifist who emphasized unity between all powers on the Kistavich/Anagonian continent for the maintenance of peace, established economic relations with Kaksakdia and Jin Yi(?). Retired in 1990, owing to terminal illness. Vaillant Carrier named after him. TBA

Auberon Pascal (1990-2008)

Second National Spokesman, serving 18 years before being forced to retire. Militarist whose attempt to launch an invasion of Seuria was prevented by Meridonian influence. Moved Arcadie into a closer alliance with Kaskaida, and cancelled trade deals with Anagonia and Meridon which had been planned by Vaillant. TBA

Maximilien Thibault (2008-2014)

Third National Spokesman, serving 6 years. Militarist who agitated against the Yuldo Special Self-Governing Authority and Joseon as a whole. Promoted nuclear development to the greatest extent of any National Spokesman, owing to his career in nuclear development. Died of radiation poisoning in 2014. TBA

Yves Janvier (2014-2016)

Fourth National Spokesman, serving 2 years. Pacifist who attempted to de-escalate tensions through nuclear disarmament, was removed by the military for such. Executed by firing squad on accusations of mass fraud. TBA

Édouard Beaufort (2016-2020)

Fifth National Spokesman, serving 4 years. Factionally neutral politician who to reform economy to be in-line with market principles. Forcibly retired by the military, currently living. TBA

Pierre Firmin (2020-2026)

Sixth National Spokesman, serving 6 years. Factionally neutral, attempted to increase prestige of the state through restricting military control of provincial politics. Actions actually moderately successful, owing to prestige within the military as an officer, although full scope of reforms were unable to be accomplished. Retired in 2026 due to lung condition. TBA

Vérène Villeneuve (2026-Present)

Seventh National Spokeswoman, serving from 2026 to the present. Militarist who has attempted to increase the capabilities of the armed forces in response to recent economic and political developments abroad. Consistent agitation against Seuria has been noted during her Spokeswomanship, with some analysts believing conflict is likely. First female National Spokeswoman. TBA
