Godekakor or "good cakes" is a catch all term for a type of sweets popular in the Absolute Royal Federation that is mostly sold to children. The exact definition is a bit lose but the general expectation is a packaging consisting of a sweet bread flavoured with nuts and fruits, sometimes even having jam included. However what makes them "godekakor" compared to just regular cakes is the inclusion of a small illustrated booklet. These booklets are often what makes these sweets so popular as they include religious stories from all manners of religions, morality fables, or even tales of federal or folk heroes that children can look up to or try to emulate.

Some of these stories are often sought after in their own right as collectors item and it is not entirely uncommon for children to trade various booklets with one another.

History

The exact history of these sweets is very debated and when, where, or by whom they started to be sold in with booklets and with the term "godekakor" is unknown. However it is well established that at the mid 19th century were cakes like these commonly sold in most major cities both in the home continent and the realms, both colonial realms and more native ruled ones.

Manufacturers

There exist no official monopoly on these cakes but several known brands have been registered as guild members. Some noteworthy manufactorers are; the Sha'goyohlash monastery that provides a lot of stories inspired from tales of the Fierce Unconquerable Sun and His monks, this is a brand very popular in the sun realm but is also very popular especially with boys in most of the federation as it preaches temperance, martial values, and modest living.

The most popular brand in the federation is Goranssen's bakery, previously owned by a federal merchant clan but is currently collectively owned by freemen that used work in the factory that produced them. They have always provided books directed both to women and men, with romantic stories and good life lessons for women being produced in one brand and more masculine and martial values being directed to boys with clear labels to show who the cake is meant for. However in recent days have the brand come under some scrutiny for their retroactive abolitionist leanings and more modern stories have focused more on fostering equality between the various species in the federation and it's condemnation of slavery. To deter such allegations however have it also released a new line that tells the stories of various kings of the federation and these are commonly sought after as collectors items. Especially rare kings for instance are known to go for high sums of money and several noblemen are known to have listings of issues they are looking for would anyone come up.

Frau Hednas bakery is another common brand that can trace it's roots to Vinland, these are however almost exclusively directed towards women and are known to focus on romance stories but they also include a page at the end teaching various skills a young woman would need such as mathematics, home economics, cooking, sewing, and cleaning.
