The Maya-class battleship (摩耶型戦艦, Maya-gata senkan) is a class of three battleships that are owned and operated by the Royal Komashi Navy. With a length of 285 m (935 ft) and a beam of 36 m (118 ft), it is inarguably the largest and the mightiest surface vessels that the nation of Komashi has ever designed. The class represents the pinnacle of the Arakami Kingdom's national prestige and power, as well as being the pinnacle of Komashi naval engineering.

The naval power exhibited by the Strangereal superpower of Friently during the Komashi War of Succession left a deep impression on their Komashi counterparts. Prior to their arrival, the Royal Komashi Navy had no larger surface combatant that would ever match their strength, with the Natori class of cruisers being their only answer. After the war and their subsequent repudation of the Five Points Treaty, the nation of Komashi spared no expense to overhaul their military.

After several back-and-forth trips between Komashi and Friently, naval architects began designing the Maya class, and soon enough, the Royal Komashi Navy sought to the latter for construction. Two shipyards in the Empire facilitated the construction of the three battleships. Midway in their construction, Sarashiki, the third ship in the class, had a design change, her main batteries being changed from 46 cm (18 in) to 51 cm (20 in). Nevertheless, the ships were all swiftly commissioned upon completion and after sea trials.

The class carries the heaviest of Komashi naval artilleries: both Maya and Youmu carry nine 460 mm/48 calibre guns, while the Sarashiki carries six 510 mm/45 calibre guns.
