The [Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports (MECS)] is the Caminoan government agency responsible for the oversight, regulation, eforcement, and quality assurance of education in Caminoes. It was established on January 5, 2001, as per the National Edification Charter of 2000, and operates within the jurisdiction of the nation's public, private, primary, secondary and tertiary levels of education. The agency's headquarters is located in Sagacity city in its Government District. As of 2022, it has 1,500 employees and operates with an annual budget of CM$5,362,131,399,601.44, making up %24 of the Caminoes's GDP.

Structure and Organization

As part of the main 7 [[chancellorship ministries| Chancellorship Ministries]|, the ministry has state secretaries, permanent, and redundant undersecretaries.

At present, the Ministry is headed by the chancellor of education, with the following state secretaries, undersecretaries, and assistant secretaries:

A state undersecretary is assigned to each of the 10 states of the Philippines; with a director assigned to each individual prefectures within; and a city district board of education for city-class prefectures. A schools division superintendent, education program supervisor, and district supervisor is assigned to each of the school divisions defined by the department.

Functions and Responsibilities

The MECS is responsible for the cultivation, promotion, and enhancement of; Caminoan culture, education, and technological aptitude.

It is mandated by law, under the Caminoan Basic Education Law of 1975, to encourage and cultivate a youth engaged in logical analysis and critical thinking through enhanced scientific education degrees. This led to the creation of subdivisions within the department solely meant for advocating and connecting the Ministry of Science and Research with every local school districts in the country to spur knowledge and enhance connectivity through education.

This seubdivision in the ministry, led by a state secretary, engages with every school, private or public, in the country as mandate by the Basic Law. They promote advocacies of the Caminoan Space Agency for interest in space exploration, knowledge, and fields of interest in astronomy.
