The Free Association of the Oderran Commonwealth is an interstellar commonwealth that resides in the Andromeda galaxy. It is bordered by space territory by the Terran Concordium and the Bolar Republic. Founded through the confederation of the economic, political and social hubs of Oderra, Janith and Styranis, the Oderran Commonwealth is a significant economic and political power in the north western quadrant of the Andromeda galaxy.

The area that the Oderran Commonwealth currently controls was initially unclaimed and unexplored space, beyond the reaches of many civilisations' interstellar capability. However in 2688, human settlers from the fledgling Terran Concordium established a major trading and mining outpost on the planet now known as Oderra. Due to its strategic position in the uncharted northwest quadrant of Andromeda, Oderra experienced great economic growth and soon become the centrepiece of human exploration efforts into Andromeda, gaining considerable political influence. Gradually, Oderra became further detached from the Concordium as it established its authority and influence, culminating in Oderra's declaration of it's own sovereignty as an independent polity in 2718. The Republic of Oderra, with its clear economic and political influence in the region, united with two other major human worlds in the northwest quadrant, Janith and Styranis, forming in 2799, the Oderran Confederation, becoming the dominant power in the quadrant. After the induction of Janis and Styranis into the polity, the Confederation was declared a Commonwealth. The Oderran Commonwealth experienced rapid growth, encompassing large swathes of both Andromeda and the Milky Way, becoming the definitive rival human state to the Terran Concordium. The two nations increasingly developed a hostile rivalry that saw an outbreak of armed conflict in the devastating Great Intergalactic War from 3251 to 3282, which saw the defeat of Oderra and massive economic and political damage. Subject to severe penalties, the Oderran Commonwealth became a pariah state. However, with the outbreak of the Medusa War in 3315, the support of the Oderran Commonwealth in the defeat of the Medusa virus saw the rehabilitation of the nation and eventual reintegration of the Commonwealth into universal politics.
