History

The Progress Party was founded by dissidents from the Sex Party, League, Regionalist People's Party and independents. In the 1978 election the party did run in all the constituencies but failed to win seats. In the 1982 election they did run only in the Region of the Capital-constituency and won 4% of votes in this constituency.
