Born to a mixed-race, upper-middle class couple with a Pakistani Muslim father (a succesful businessman) and a White, Catholic mother (a succesful teacher), he went kn tk study History and Politics at University, Alexander Khan achieved a 2:1 degree then went into the RAF Regiment. Military career

Alexander Khan joined the Royal Air Force Regiment (a military unit of the RAF that fights on land to protect RAF personnel, bases and equipment), during his career he was deployed to Cyprus, Pakistan, and a number of African and Caribbean countries. He was swiftly promoted through the ranks and received the Distinguished Service Medal and the Queen’s Commendation For Gallantry during a peace-keeping operation in the Congo. He later became in charge of the RAF Regiment, receiving a CBE.

Political career

After retiring from the RAF at the rank of Air Commodore Alexander Khan became MP for Hackney and was appointed Defence Secretary. He later became Prime Minister.
