The Honourable Sir Francis Molland KM, MC & Bar, was a Vionna-Frankenlischian military officer from Fredericksburgh in eastern Vionna. A career soldier, Molland served during the Prodavan War and rose to the rank of colonel, going on to command the King's Own North Gestoria Rifles in the Cassadian Civil War in which he was killed. Molland was wounded in action at the Battle of La-Minning's Ford where he was credited with saving the life of Adelaide Douglas Fitz-Kieth, then a young Captain in his regiment. While returning to Frankenlisch to recover, Molland died of his wounds at sea. His daughter, Elizabeth, is an officer in the Imperial Navy.
From Fredericksburgh on the western coast of Vionna, Molland began his military career in 1985 when he was 19, serving as a junior officer in the Royal Fredericksland Regiment before transferring to the King's Own North Gestoria Rifles in the lead-up to the Prodavan War.
Early Life
Born in Fredericksburgh on 19th April 1966, Francis Molland was the son of Anthony Molland and his wife Jessica. Anthony Molland managed several textile mills owned by Sir Adam Remmon and the family were well-off. Francis Molland was the second of three brothers and his father envisioned a military career for him since birth. The family were not heavily affected by the Civil War of 1966 and Anthony retained his management position under the new regime after undertaking a course intended to indoctrinate him into the Socialist politics of the new government.
