Sonhel is the fourth planet from the sun and is one of three planets in the solar system to host life, and the only one to host intelligent life. Sonhel is one of three planets with substantial liquid water, with 65% of the surface covered by water. The remaining 35% is covered by land, consisting of continents and islands which are widely covered by vegetation. The planet is affected by plate tectonics, which interact to create volcanoes, mountains, and earthquakes. Inside Sonhel's crust is a liquid outer core that generates the magnetosphere, deflecting most of the destructive solar winds and cosmic radiation.
Sonhel has a dynamic atmosphere, which protects it from outside threats. The atmosphere is made of mostly carbon dioxide, but is also made of nitrogen and oxygen. It creates conditions for the retaining of liquid water and hear. This maintains the current average temperature of 15°C.
Sonhel is one of six rocky planets, and is the largest and most massive. The planet is about eight light minutes away from Kentoa and takes roughly one year (379.168 days) to complete one orbit. It takes one day (25.06 hours) to complete one rotation on its axis. Sonhel is orbited by one natural and permanent satellite called Iarujo, where it orbits Sonhel at a distance of 384,748 kilometers (1.32 light seconds) and is roughly a quarter of Sonhel's size. Because of it's proximity to Sonhel, it is always facing one side towards the planet (via tidal locking) which causes tides, and eventually slows down the orbital period of Sonhel.
Like most of the bodies in the solar system, Sonhel was formed from gas and dust 4.7 billion years ago. During the first billion years of Sonhel's history, the ocean formed and later life developed in it. Life since then has spread throughout and has affected the land and sea, later leading to the Great Oxidation Event two billion years ago. Humans first emerged around 350,000 years ago on the continent of Maipela and have reached the current population of 1.8 billion.
