Yocopo, officially the City of Yocopo (French: Ville de Yocopo), (Yoganian/Kjerso: Yocopo Orden) is the capital and largest city in Yogania, with over 34 million inhabitants. It is located in the southwest in the country, on the Yocopo River. It is made up of 13 quartiers (districts) governed by the Yocopo City Council (French: Mairie de Yocopo), led by mayor Budson Golrivic (JDS). Yocopo is also the capital of the state of the same name. Yocopo was founded in the 6th century A.D. by King Yogodan I The Great, the first King of Yogania, though it was not made the national capital until the 19th century. Yocopo has always been the cultural and political center of the Kingdom, having been the location of the Royal Burlagan Gorsudd Palace since the 1500s. The city of Yocopo is known worldwide for various monuments and landmarks, including the Burydan Halfdan statue, Yogodan XV Square (pictured) Blue Garden, Willenbursen Avenue, and the Yoganian Parliament.

Etymology

The name Yocopo comes from a combination of the name of Yogodan I the Great, the founder of the city and of the Yoganian Kingdom, and the ancient Buggan word Kopol, which means city or town.
