The Zhenzhu-class submarine (literally "Pearl"), also known as the Project 309-class, is the latest class of nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine developed by the navy of Songguo. The Zhenzhu-class is designed to carry 16 JC-3 SLBMs, and the first four boats began deterrent patrols in 2010. Since then, two more boats have been deployed, bringing the total up to six.
